About Raedawn Johnson
Raedawn Johnson was born in Queens, NY, but grew up in New Windsor, NY. As a teen, she had dreams of becoming an actress.
Always having her hands in things creative and artistic, it's no surprise Raedawn started out pursuing acting, but was more drawn to her artistic side. She quickly realized her love and passion for the art of makeup.
Raedawn got a portion of her training while working along side eyebrow guru Ramy Gafni, for two years. During her time with Ramy, she also worked at the acclaimed, Rita Hazan salon, known for it's high-profile celebrity clientele.
Now freelance, she has become a much sought after makeup artist, in her own right. Raedawn's work has been featured in magazines such as Japanese Vogue, Life & Style, Town & Country. In addition, her artistry has graced the covers of Next, and XXL. She has been a beauty contributor to the NY Post and has been featured in Makeup Artist Magazine, and numerous beauty blogs.
Her talent has landed her the role of Key Makeup Artist for the Vassilios Kostetsos, Tony Francesc and Plutocracy fashion shows in the tents at Bryant Park during fashion week. She has also been Key Makeup Artist for various music videos.
Raedawn was commissioned as a creative consult for Mehron Cosmetics to aid in reformulating their foundations. Raedawn helped Mehron create their new line Celebre HD Pro Foudations.
Raedawn's work can also be seen in print ads and TV commercials for MTV, Nivea, Rockband and many more.
Her client list is full of prominent singers, actors, rappers, authors, politicians, and more.
Raedawn's down to earth attitude, constant smile, and undeniable talent is what continues to keep her in demand. She continues to do makeup for many celebrities and their press appearances, photo shoots, television programs, fashion shows, weddings and is now sharing tips and all things beauty on her blog.
